McKissack, as lead partner in a joint venture, provided program management services for the new Southeast site of the new Washington Nationals Stadium.
Specific services included program management, negotiation assistance, scheduling, budgeting, permitting, design reviews, construction inspection, and coordination with residents, businesses, local officials, and representatives of MLB for the execution of a fast-track, design-build delivery for the new construction of the baseball stadium. The team provided for the relocation of existing transportation and utility infrastructure around the stadium site, and provision of new street and streetscape improvements as well as new storm, sanitary, water, and other utilities. Low Impact Development techniques were also incorporated into the drainage design. The new ballpark is the prime catalyst for the multi-billion dollar, public/private redevelopment of the Anacostia Waterfront in the city.
