McKissack & McKissack was selected in a joint venture by Chicago’s Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority to renovate and expand the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place Hotel, a LEED Gold certified 14-story tower and the primary hotel servicing Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center.
McKissack provided quality assurance/ quality control oversight of the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place’s new guest tower, which has 460 rooms and a new pedestrian bridge connecting it to an existing parking deck. Sustainable initiatives improved McCormick Place’s energy center and added a green roof. The project scope also included creation of a ballroom and renovation of significant portions of the existing hotel, including all 800 guest rooms, front lobby enhancements, business center improvements, fitness center upgrades and renovations to foodservice areas and meeting rooms.
