McKissack managed, designed, and developed a public and private streetscape, inclusive of a major grocery store chain and retail establishments.
The scope of work included utility and topographic survey, traffic study and report, civil engineering design for roadway, underground utilities, curb, gutter, and sidewalk improvements. The work also included electrical street lighting design, paving design, cost estimating services, and the necessary architectural and structural designs to support these improvements. All design had to comply with current design practices and code requirement for the District of Columbia as well as Americans with Disabilities Act standards. McKissack was also responsible for obtaining all permits and clearances, coordinating with all applicable subcontractors, and acting as a liaison with the District of Columbia government.
