The District of Columbia was building a stadium for the first professional soccer team in Washington, D.C. McKissack assisted the mayor by providing design options for the future soccer stadium, which included site development and conceptual architectural design. The new riverfront stadium at Buzzard Point generates economic development for a once-neglected industrial area.
