McKissack &McKissack provided the framework for the Modernization of Inglewood UnifiedSchool District's Capital Facilities Program in Inglewood, California schools.
McKissack was tasked with developing the program to administer a $90 million general obligation bond for new construction and modernization projects throughout the District, serving approximately 11,000 students in 18 schools. The scope outlined in the School Facilities Master Plan focused on school site health, safety and security, school renovation, repair, upgrades, and construction, and districtwide wiring and technology for instructional support and effective learning environments. Priorities of the plan included repairing and replacing leaky roofs and inadequate electrical and plumbing systems, modernizing, renovating, constructing classrooms, restrooms, and school facilities, construction of new science and computer labs, replacing portable classrooms with permanent classrooms, and making energy efficiency and health and safety improvements.
