Delta Air Lines LAX Airfield & Terminal Modernization Project

At Los AngelesInternational Airport, one of the nation’s busiest airports, McKissack &McKissack is providing project management and project controls services to Delta Air Lines’ terminal modernization, working around the departure schedules without disturbing the pace of the airline’s operations during this terminal expansion project.
The need for Delta’s seven-year, $1.9 billion LAX modernization program is a result of the airline’s growth in Los Angeles, where Delta’s daily departures increased from 70 to more than 175 since 2009.  The program includes relocating the airline from Terminals 5 and 6 to Terminals 2 and 3. McKissack is providing construction management, project management, project controls and contract management services.  The modernization program includes construction of a secure connector to the north side of the Tom Bradley International Terminal. The additional 833,000 SF of new terminal space will ease congestion and provide enhanced connectivity between T2 and T3 terminals.
